Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer at Agilent, you will provide on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of Gas Chromatography (GC) and Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) systems. You'll play a crucial role in customer success by ensuring equipment operates at its best, solving issues proactively, and delivering outstanding customer service. You will work across various labs, continuously learning new instruments, software, and consumables.

Location: St. Louis, MO (travel up to 40% within Missouri, Southern Illinois, Iowa, Arkansas, and occasionally across the broader district including North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, optimize, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network configurations.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, minimizing disruption to customer operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure peak system performance.
  • Advise customers on preventive maintenance and system configurations.
  • Deliver integrated solutions, including peripherals and software.
  • Provide training to customers and other field engineers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of proven experience in GC/GCMS systems as a field engineer or end user.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Agilent systems is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least October 9, 2024 or until the job is no longer posted. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $40.46 - $63.22/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
