About the role

Having achieved record growth and the decision to promote internally, a national leader in the mining and building materials market are looking to acquire a Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a team as well as handling big projects that involve the safety and efficiency of equipment use. The main areas of focus are daily reports, efficient equipment use, budget handling, safety protocols and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all plant equipment is regularly maintained for optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Plan and Schedule Repairs: Develop preventive maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs to meet production needs.
• Lead Maintenance Team: Manage and mentor maintenance staff, ensuring safety, efficiency, and skill development.
• Ensure Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA and company safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment.
• Optimize Maintenance Budget: Control maintenance costs by managing budgets, sourcing parts, and negotiating with vendors.

Skills and qualifications:

• High school - minimum requirement
• Experience in planning and executing maintenance projects, managing timelines, and coordinating resources.
• Ability to analyze maintenance data, track KPIs, and use insights to improve reliability and efficiency.
• In-depth understanding of cement plant machinery, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Proficiency in maintenance planning, scheduling, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues quickly.

Scope

Lead initiatives to improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and optimize maintenance processes using best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
