Scion Executive Search is seeking a results-driven Director of Sales (Partnerships Development)! This role will involve both direct sales to C-level executives, HR leaders, and nonprofit board members, as well as the management and mentorship of a sales team. About the Role
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this pivotal role will drive business development through outbound sales growth, cultivate strategic client relationships, and lead a high-performing partnerships team. You will be instrumental in building our presence in the corporate sector while maintaining our business in the nonprofit sector, focusing on bringing in jobs for our executive recruiters to place in executive level administrative, finance, accounting, HR, engineering, marketing, operations, nonprofit, and other professional positions for both corporate and nonprofit clients.
This role is responsible for the success of outbound business development and inbound sales for Scion Executive Search. We are looking for someone who: 1) takes leadership initiative and is passionate about team leadership and building business, 2) can teach and mentor others to discover and connect with new and existing clients who are in need of our support, and 3) lead the sales activities for the division, and inspire new accounts to engage our brand via consultative selling that explains how we can best serve their needs and be a real resource.
This full-time position is for immediate hire! While the role is fully remote, to be eligible for employment, you must reside (full-time) and work from one of our designated core states on the Central or East Coast, specifically: CT, DC, FL, IL, MN, NY, OH, TN, TX, or WI.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Executive Director to drive success and implement effective sales strategies.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to drive SES sales growth and profitability through outbound business development, expanding Scion's client base with a consultative, relationship-based approach.
- Build and maintain a robust book of business.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to SES clients through proactive communication and problem-solving.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, HR leaders, and nonprofit board members, and drive long-term partnerships.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold outreach, and industry events.
- Negotiate and close contracts with new and existing clients.
- Manage client accounts, ensuring successful placement of executive talent.
- Achieve SES sales targets and performance metrics, both individually and as a sales team.
- Recruit, train, mentor, motivate, and lead the SES Partnerships team to achieve ambitious sales goals. Through servant leadership, drive their success, growth, and development to become exceptional salespeople teaching effective sales techniques.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Stay informed on industry trends, employment law, and local market hiring trends.
- Execute significant daily communications via email, LinkedIn messages, social media, and phone calls, emphasizing outbound business development and relationship building.
- Promote innovation, creativity, and open communication within the team.
- Build strong relationships with the recruiting team, fostering collaboration and unity to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.
- Proactively engage and cultivate valuable connections at networking events and industry conferences, both locally and nationally.
What You Bring - Proven success as an individual contributor selling outbound and building a region via sales and business development for an executive search firm. Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and revenue growth. 5+ years of proven experience in sales leadership and mentorship within the executive search industry. OR A proven track record of outbound sales success with C-level and director-level decision-makers, including outbound strategy and mentorship experience transferable to the staffing industry.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, ethics, and exceptional passion for team leadership, and sales partnership development.
- Proficient in CRM software and other relevant sales tools, leveraging technology and promoting modern best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the national market and a robust network of contacts.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results and inspire a team.

- This position requires attendance at industry networking events, local networking events, conferences and the ability to travel occasionally/frequently.
