Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for proposing, planning, executing, and finalizing large, complex projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the projects objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining the project scope, objectives, deliverables, cost proposals, and timelines.
- Accurately forecast project costs both as part of the proposal process and during regular financial forecasting activities.
- Allocate resources efficiently, ensuring the right team members are assigned to tasks, and manage budgets to keep projects within financial constraints.
- Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and addressing concerns to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them, ensuring projects stay on track despite challenges.
- Monitor project progress and performance, implementing quality control measures to ensure deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering, Technical, or Business related field.
- 5+ years recent relevant experience in a project manager role.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Experience working in a small or medium caliber ammunition manufacturing facility preferred.
- Prior work with USG or Department of Defense customers preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of preparing financial statements and/or project proposals.
- Some travel may be required, less than 10%.
Location-Specific Requirements
- Must possess a valid US driver's license
- Successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- Access to ITAR controlled technical data; employment contingent upon ability to access ITAR data pursuant to an export license if required.
- Successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant; candidates must be a US citizen.
